My top tips for perfecting your #selfcaresunday 💫


Self-care Sunday is my favourite time of the week. It’s my non-negotiable and something I always ensure I make time for.

Recharging your batteries and doing you love to help you relax and unwind is what self-care is all about. It’s all about taking action in putting yourself first, to do things that make you feel content.

It’s not all about painting your nails and fake tanning to make yourself feel good... it could be taking just one hour out of your day to finish a captivating book or an intense HIIT workout. Whatever it is that gets you feeling fabulous, make it a routine... here are some tips and tricks you can try today!


  1. Bubble bath. Trust me. Feeling sad? Soak your troubles away in the bath with calming lavender infused products. Aching from a gruelling workout? Use Epsom bath salts to soothe your tired muscles! For me personally, bubble baths are like a big hug. Warming, comforting and so so sooooo relaxing!

  2. Practice gratitude. Write down three-five things that you are grateful for this week. It could be a WhatsApp message from a friend checking in or that someone let you jump in the queue in Tesco. This is something that has been a new addition to my routine and has made me realise the small things in life I am grateful for.

  3. The ‘pamper package’ - yep, you heard me. I’m a typical girly girl and I LOVE nothing more than feeling and shiny and new again. Waxing, moisturising, exfoliating, face mask, eye mask, dying hair, plucking brows, fake tanning, acrylic nails... phew, it’s exhausting trying to keep up appearances! But, it’s something I really enjoy doing and makes me feel so damn good! Especially during lockdown, we all need something to look forward to and I don’t know about you but I am sick to death with resembling something out of wrong turn!

  4. Explore your tastebuds. If you’re a massive foodie like me then this is something I highly recommend! You haven’t even got to be a good cook; there are so many recipes out there for all cooking abilities that you’ll end up feeling like Gordon Ramsay! These past six months, I’ve discovered new ingredients and flavours I never knew existed and have been able to incorporate them into my meals. It keeps things interesting and something to look forward to whilst experimenting with foods you’ve never tried before! Win win!

  5. Get the blood pumping. This shouldn’t be daunting or perceived as a challenge, I promise! If you enjoy going at 10,000 miles an hour during a HIIT session then you go glen coco! But I’m here to tell you that you don’t need to! Just walking 30 minutes every day can have SO many positive effects on your body as well as mental health: reduce your risk of developing health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, improves your cardiovascular fitness and reduces body fat. If walking isn’t your thing, then how about swimming? Pilates or yoga? The main thing I want to stress is that any form of physical activity is enough. It has a huge positive impact on enhancing our mindset and wellbeing, and therefore can help to alleviate stress, fatigue and depression.
