You’ve heard of avocado in guacamole and in your favourite green smoothie, but have you ever had it on your face?
I’m such an advocate for natural skincare, knowing all the ingredients are in rawest form and doing wonders for our skin.
I’ve really been enjoying making my own skincare products and perfecting the recipe (multiple times) to make products good enough to eat! Let’s start with this glowing avo-packed, hydrating face mask 💫
You will need:
1 ripe avocado
1/3 cup plain yogurt (I used Greek)
2 teaspoons honey
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tbsp rolled oats (for more of an exfoliation mask)
What to do:
Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until smooth.
Wash face with a cleanser, dry and then apply mask liberally to face and neck.
Let sit on face for 20 minutes.
Wash mask off face and follow-up with your typical skincare routine.
Why is it so good?
Avocado as we all know is full of healthy fats and antioxidants. The natural oils and vitamins in the 🥑 help to hydrate the skin as well as acting as an anti-inflammatory barrier and helps calm redness.
